Please reach me at Howdy@TwilightDoodles.com or by text at 972.559.4282 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I’ll be honest, many families initially find Twilight Doodles because they fall in love with the dogs themselves and I completely understand why. I do produce some absolutely breathtaking Goldendoodles.
I’m one of the few breeders intentionally focusing on standard sized chocolate and liver (brown nosed) Goldendoodles in a variety of coat textures, shades, and patterns. And yes, I absolutely adore the beauty of these dogs too. 🤎🐾
But for me, this goes far, far beyond appearance.
Before I ever consider a pairing, I spend years evaluating my adult dogs and who they are in everyday life. Their temperaments, emotional stability, adaptability, affection, confidence, and trainability matter deeply to me because puppies truly do become little pieces of their parents in so many ways.
I want to raise dogs that are enjoyable to actually live with. Dogs that can settle in the home, connect deeply with their people, adapt to family life, and become true companions.
But I also believe something that’s equally important:
nurture matters tremendously.
Even the most well tempered puppy still needs guidance, structure, consistency, training, and intentional raising after go-home day. That’s why such a huge part of my program focuses on preparing puppy parents, not just raising puppies.
I don’t believe families need a “perfect” puppy. I believe they need support, education, realistic expectations, and someone willing to walk alongside them through the normal ups and downs of raising a dog.
Because the love, routine, and consistency poured into a puppy after go-home day will shape so much of who they become as an adult.
My goal is to create an incredible foundation through genetics, early development, and intentional raising while also helping Prepared Puppy Parents feel confident and supported long after their puppy leaves my home.
That’s the part that truly matters most to me.
I primarily raise Multigenerational Standard Goldendoodles.
You’ll probably see terms online like F1, F1B, multigen, backcrosses, and all kinds of generation labels and while those labels can give a general idea of a pairing, I honestly think families sometimes put way more weight into them than they need to.
At the end of the day, generation alone doesn’t guarantee temperament, coat type, shedding level, or overall compatibility with your lifestyle.
What matters far more to me is the individual dogs being paired, the genetics behind them, and the traits they consistently produce.
That’s where I focus my energy.
I intentionally breed standard sized Goldendoodles with loving, adaptable temperaments and a variety of beautiful coat textures, shades, and patterns. Many families specifically find Twilight Doodles because of my chocolate and liver (brown nosed) dogs and I’ll be honest, I absolutely adore them too. 🤎🐾
But I’m never choosing appearance over temperament, structure, health, or the long term goals of my program.
I care much more about producing dogs that are enjoyable to live with than chasing trendy labels or generations.
Because while generation labels can sound important online, what truly matters is raising a well rounded dog that fits beautifully into your everyday life.
Not necessarily and honestly, this is one of the biggest misconceptions I see online.
A lot of people are taught to believe that labels like F1, F1B, or multigen automatically determine whether a dog will shed, but it’s actually much more nuanced than that.
Shedding is influenced far more by the individual genetics and coat traits of the parents being paired than the generation label alone.
That’s why two puppies from the exact same generation can still have different coat types, textures, and levels of shedding.
When I’m planning litters, I’m looking closely at the genetics behind the dogs, their furnishings, coat traits, and what they have consistently produced over time, not just what generation label sounds good on paper.
I also try to encourage families not to get too overwhelmed by all the doodle terminology online because honestly… it can become a rabbit hole very quickly. 🤎🐾
At the end of the day, what matters most is finding a puppy whose overall traits fit your lifestyle well, understanding realistic grooming expectations, and working with a breeder who understands the genetics behind the dogs they’re intentionally pairing.
Because there’s so much more to a Goldendoodle than simply being labeled “F1B” or “multigen.”›
Sometimes! But most Twilight Doodles puppies are spoken for before they’re even born.
Because of that, families typically join my Reservation List ahead of time rather than waiting until puppies are ready to go home. Joining early allows me to walk alongside families throughout the process instead of everything feeling rushed at the very end.
It also gives Prepared Puppy Parents time to learn, ask questions, follow along with the litter, and truly prepare for life with a puppy before go-home day arrives.
And honestly? I know joining a reservation list can sometimes feel intimidating at first. Families often worry about being “too far down the list” or not getting the “best” puppy, but I truly believe there is no such thing as a bad match.
Every family is drawn to different traits, personalities, energy levels, coat types, and little quirks. My job is to raise well rounded puppies, get to know both the litter and the families deeply, and help guide everyone through the process in a way that feels exciting rather than stressful.
I never want families feeling pressured to compete for a puppy.
The right puppy is the one that feels naturally aligned with your home, your lifestyle, and the connection you feel when the time comes.
And occasionally, yes, I do have older puppies or current availability! If I do, you’ll typically find them listed here: Available Goldendoodles
My matching process is honestly much more relationship focused than people often expect.
I don’t believe choosing a puppy should feel stressful, overly clinical, or like you’re competing for the “perfect” dog. Instead, families spend weeks following along with the litter, learning about the puppies, watching their personalities begin unfolding, and naturally feeling drawn toward certain puppies as they grow.
By the time Match Day arrives, most families already have a pretty good idea of which puppy feels right to them. 🤎🐾
Here’s what the process typically looks like:
Joining the Reservation List
Once your application is approved and your Reservation Fee is placed, your spot within the litter is secured.
From there, you officially become part of the TD Fam and begin following along throughout the pregnancy and puppy raising journey.
Following Along With the Litter
Families receive regular updates, photos, videos, educational emails, and access to behind the scenes moments as the puppies grow and develop.
I truly love this part of the process because families don’t just show up at the very end and randomly pick a puppy. You get to watch these little personalities unfold in real time.
Match Day (around 4 weeks old)
Around 4 weeks old, families officially match with their puppy in reservation order.
This usually happens shortly after the puppies really begin “coming alive” developmentally. Their personalities start becoming more visible, families have spent weeks watching them grow, and connections often begin happening very naturally.
I truly don’t believe there’s a “bad” spot on the reservation list or one universally “best” puppy. Every family is looking for something a little different and every puppy has their own unique charm, energy, and personality.
My role is to help guide families honestly throughout the process while also giving space for those natural connections to happen.
TD Fam Socialization Day (around 6 weeks old)
Around 6 weeks old, families are invited to Twilight Doodles for TD Fam Socialization Day.
This is typically the first time families meet the puppies in person, though virtual meetings are available for out of state families as well.
While families absolutely spend time with their own puppy, this day is also intentionally hands on for the entire litter. Families help safely expose the puppies to new people, scents, sounds, textures, handling exercises, and positive experiences.
I truly believe these early interactions help shape confident, adaptable puppies while also helping families begin understanding normal puppy behavior, communication, and development in real time.
You aren’t just meeting the puppies that day.
You’re helping shape them.
›
Then comes the exciting part. 🤎🐾
At 8 weeks old, puppies officially head home with their Prepared Puppy Parents along with health records, educational resources, continued support, and a whole community cheering them on as this next chapter begins.
Because my goal has never been simply sending families home with a cute puppy.
It’s helping families feel prepared, supported, and connected long before go-home day ever arrives.
Absolutely. Health testing is a huge part of my program and honestly, not something I’m willing to compromise on.
Every breeding dog in my program completes extensive health testing before ever being considered for breeding. This includes OFA testing for hips, elbows, cardiac, and eyes along with genetic DNA panel testing relevant to both Golden Retrievers and Poodles.
Because as beautiful as these dogs are, none of that matters if we aren’t also prioritizing long term health, soundness, and quality of life.
I also think transparency matters tremendously. Families should never feel like health testing is some mysterious thing happening behind the scenes that they’re simply expected to trust.
That’s why I make parent dogs’ testing publicly available for families to review themselves under my Mamas & Papas pages.
And yes, I hold outside studs to the exact same standards. If the health testing is incomplete, missing, or not something I personally feel confident in, I simply won’t use that dog in my program.
No pairing is worth cutting corners over.
While health testing can never guarantee a puppy will live a completely perfect life, it absolutely helps breeders make more informed, responsible decisions that stack the odds in favor of healthier future generations.
For me, that’s one of the most important responsibilities I have as a breeder. 🤎🐾
Puppy raising is honestly one of the parts of breeding I’m most passionate about. 🤎🐾
From the very beginning, my goal isn’t simply to raise cute puppies. It’s to help build confident, adaptable dogs that can move through everyday life with curiosity, resilience, and emotional stability.
I take pieces from several different puppy raising programs, continuing education conferences, and real world experience, but I don’t believe any single method is perfect for every litter. Instead, I focus on raising puppies intentionally and thoughtfully based on the individual needs of the dogs in front of me.
The puppies are raised right inside my home and are gradually introduced to normal life in age appropriate ways as they grow.
Some of the foundations I focus heavily on include:
• Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
• Positive exposure to household sounds, textures, surfaces, handling, grooming, and everyday life
• Confidence building through new experiences and gentle challenges
• Crate foundations, recovery skills, and learning how to settle calmly
• Early potty training foundations and routine building
• Safe socialization with people, puppies, scents, sounds, and environments
• Teaching neutrality and adaptability instead of constant overstimulation
One thing I talk about often is that calm is taught.
I don’t want puppies who only know chaos, constant entertainment, or nonstop stimulation. I want puppies who can confidently explore the world but also relax, settle into family life, and emotionally regulate as they mature.
That balance matters tremendously.
I also spend a huge amount of time preparing puppy parents along the way because raising wonderful dogs doesn’t stop at 8 weeks old. The consistency, structure, guidance, and love puppies receive after go-home day will shape so much of who they become long term.
My goal is to give families and puppies the strongest possible foundation before they ever leave Whelping Wonderland. 🤎🍄🐾
Your puppy will go home eating pawTree Chicken & Oatmeal along with the same feeding routines they’ve been raised on here at Twilight Doodles. 🤎🐾
Over the years, pawTree has simply worked really well for my dogs and puppies. I’ve personally had great experiences with digestion, coat quality, growth, consistency, and overall condition while feeding it, which is why I continue using it in my program.
Honestly, one of the biggest breaths of fresh air for me has been finding a brand that offers so much variety while still maintaining a level of quality I personally trust. Whether it’s different proteins, supplements, or additional options as dogs mature and their needs change, I love knowing families can have flexibility without feeling like they’re constantly starting over with entirely different standards of nutrition.
And honestly, just like humans, nutrition isn’t always one size fits all. Every dog is a little different. Some dogs thrive eating exactly the suggested amount on the bag while others may need slight adjustments depending on metabolism, growth, activity level, or body condition.
That’s one reason I spend a lot of time helping Prepared Puppy Parents learn how to observe and understand their individual dog rather than simply following rigid feeding rules.
I also believe food is only one piece of the puzzle. Puppies here are raised with thoughtful routines, supplements, enrichment, structure, and intentional development from the very beginning.
Before go-home day, families are required to purchase at least 30 days of pawTree food so puppies can transition into their new homes with as much consistency as possible during those first few weeks.
Could families switch foods later if they truly wanted to? Of course. But I always recommend making any food changes slowly and intentionally because sudden transitions are one of the quickest ways to create tummy upset in young puppies.
At the end of the day, I strongly encourage families to stick with pawTree long term because I’ve personally found it offers an incredible amount of flexibility without sacrificing consistency in quality.
Whether your dog eventually does better on a different protein, needs supplements, benefits from a sensitive stomach option, or simply enjoys variety, I love that families can make adjustments within the same trusted brand rather than constantly feeling like they need to completely start over nutritionally.
That consistency has honestly been a huge breath of fresh air for me throughout the years of raising dogs and supporting puppy families. 🤎🐾
I get asked sometimes, “If the puppies are already eating a high quality food, why do you give supplements too?”
And honestly… I look at dogs a lot like I look at people.
Most of us know how important food is. We know eating better usually helps us feel better. But most people also wouldn’t think it was weird for someone to take a multivitamin, probiotics, fish oil, or immune support on top of eating healthy meals.
To me, dogs are really no different.
A good kibble should absolutely be the foundation. That’s always step one for me. But I also think there are ways to continue supporting the body beyond just the basics, especially during periods of rapid growth and development like puppyhood.
Food is medicine. Truly.
The Twilight Doods currently use:
• Daily Multivitamin
• ImmunoShroom
• Gastro Pro Plus
• Salmon Oil
Some of these are started while puppies are still here with me, while others I simply recommend families slowly introduce later on as their puppy matures.
Over the years, I’ve personally noticed huge differences in dogs when nutrition is prioritized. Better digestion. Healthier coats. Better immune support. Better recovery. Overall healthier dogs.
And listen, I fully understand that price matters. Feeding dogs well can absolutely add up, especially with large breed dogs. But I also know firsthand that there’s nothing more expensive emotionally or financially than a dog struggling with chronic health issues.
I’d much rather support the body proactively than constantly feel like I’m playing catch up later.
That doesn’t mean dogs need every supplement under the sun or that things need to become complicated. I think sometimes the dog world makes nutrition feel way more overwhelming than it needs to be.
I just want families to understand they have options.
One thing I really like about PawTree is that there are multiple protein and supplement options available, so families can continue exploring what works best for their individual dog without sacrificing quality.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple:
raise healthy dogs from the very beginning and help Prepared Puppy Parents feel confident caring for them long after Go Home Day 🤎🐾
Twilight Doodles puppies do not typically receive vaccines before go-home day and that decision is intentional. 🤎🐾
Before leaving for their new homes, each puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian to ensure they are healthy, developing appropriately, and ready for this next transition.
From there, families are required to schedule a veterinary appointment within 72 hours of bringing their puppy home. At that appointment, your veterinarian will typically administer your puppy’s first round of core vaccinations.
I personally prefer this timeline because by 8 weeks old, the maternal antibodies puppies received through nursing from their mother are beginning to fade from their system. Giving vaccines after this point helps ensure the puppy’s immune system is better able to properly respond to the vaccine itself.
Your veterinarian will then guide you through the remainder of your puppy’s vaccine schedule over the following months as they continue growing and developing.
One thing I encourage families to remember is that puppies are still in a very important developmental and socialization window during this stage of life.
That means balancing smart health precautions with positive exposure to the world around them.
I generally recommend avoiding high traffic dog areas early on while still prioritizing safe socialization, confidence building, handling, car rides, training foundations, and positive new experiences in controlled environments.
Your puppy will also go home with complete veterinary records so your veterinarian knows exactly what has been done prior to go-home day and how to continue their care moving forward.
Because raising a healthy, confident puppy is never about fear or isolation.
It’s about thoughtful balance. 🤎🐾
Yes. Pet puppies from Twilight Doodles are expected to be spayed or neutered by 15 months of age. 🤎🐾
I intentionally wait until this stage because I believe it’s important to allow dogs time to physically mature and fully develop before sterilization whenever possible.
Over the years, there has been growing conversation and research surrounding the role hormones play in development, joint health, growth, and overall long term wellbeing. Because of that, I always encourage families to have thoughtful conversations with their veterinarian about what option makes the most sense for their individual dog.
Today, there are several different sterilization options available including traditional spay/neuter procedures as well as some hormone sparing alternatives.
My goal is never to pressure families into a one size fits all approach, but rather to encourage responsible, informed decisions while still protecting the integrity of my breeding program and the dogs within it.
All families sign a sterilization agreement through SpaySecure prior to go-home day. This simply helps ensure clear communication and accountability surrounding the expectations for pet puppies within my program.
At the end of the day, my focus has always been raising beloved family companions intentionally and responsibly while also supporting the long term health and development of the dogs I bring into this world.
Absolutely. 🤎🐾
One thing I hear from new puppy families all the time is how overwhelming it can feel trying to figure out what you actually need before bringing home a puppy.
There are thousands of dog products online and honestly… not all of them are worth your money. 😂
Over the years, I’ve slowly built a Puppy Product Guide full of items I personally use, genuinely love, or have had consistently good experiences with throughout my program.
This includes things like:
• crates
• grooming tools
• enrichment items
• training supplies
• supplements
• food
• chews
• cleaning products
• puppy essentials
• and everyday items that simply make life easier with a dog
I also update the guide regularly as I discover products I like better or things that work especially well for certain dogs, ages, coat types, or lifestyles.
Because honestly, what works perfectly for one dog may not be the best fit for another and I think flexibility matters.
My goal isn’t to convince families they need the most expensive setup possible. I simply want to help Prepared Puppy Parents feel less overwhelmed and more confident heading into puppy ownership.
And don’t worry, I’ll absolutely help you focus on what’s truly important versus all the extra marketing noise the pet industry loves to throw at new dog owners. 🤎🐾
It’s actually very common for Twilight Doodles puppies to head home outside of Texas and even outside of the U.S. 🤎🐾
Over the years, I’ve had puppies join families all across the country and I’ve found that with thoughtful planning, travel home can be a very smooth and positive experience for young puppies.
My favorite option is always for families to either drive in themselves or fly into Dallas (DFW) to pick up their puppy in person.
There’s just something really special about families getting to experience that first meeting face to face and I truly love being part of those moments.
For families flying in, I typically recommend a quick turnaround trip, fly into DFW mid morning and fly out early afternoon. This means less time sitting anxiously waiting and more time spent back at home with your puppy. More about it here.
If traveling personally isn’t realistic, I currently recommend working with Pups on the Fly, a trusted flight nanny service that hand delivers puppies safely in cabin to their new families.
I no longer recommend ground transportation for young puppies and strongly prefer puppies either:
• traveling directly home with their family
• or flying in cabin with a trusted flight nanny
No matter which option families choose, puppies leave Twilight Doodles prepared with:
• health records
• familiar food
• comfort items
• transition information
• and the routines they’ve already been raised on here at home
My goal is always to make the transition from my home to yours feel as smooth, safe, and low stress as possible for both the puppy and the family.
Because even if you live far away, I still want Go Home Day to feel personal and connected. 🤎🐾
There honestly isn’t one fixed answer to this because every dog is different. 🤎🐾
When deciding how many litters a mama will have, I’m constantly paying attention to the individual dog in front of me rather than focusing strictly on numbers alone.
Some dogs absolutely thrive in motherhood. They enjoy raising puppies, recover beautifully, remain emotionally happy and confident throughout the process, and continue handling pregnancy and postpartum life very well physically.
Others may tell me much earlier that they’re ready to be done and I listen to that.
I pay very close attention to:
• how a mama handles pregnancy
• her recovery after whelping
• her emotional wellbeing
• her energy levels
• her physical condition
• her interest in raising puppies
• and whether motherhood still feels healthy and sustainable for her overall quality of life
If I ever feel like the process is becoming too much emotionally or physically for one of my girls, she retires earlier and simply enjoys life as a beloved pet.
At Twilight Doodles, my dogs are family first. Every breeding decision I make is centered around their long term health, happiness, and wellbeing above anything else.
Many of my retired mamas continue living spoiled lives either here with me or with their Guardian Families long after their breeding careers are over.
Because at the end of the day, these dogs are never “just breeding dogs” to me.
They’re deeply loved members of the Twilight Doodles story. 🤎🐾
No and honestly, that’s very intentional. 🤎🐾
Over the years, I realized that simply owning more dogs under one roof wasn’t automatically giving them the best possible quality of life.
I’ve personally experienced the season of having a larger number of adult dogs at home full time and while I loved them deeply, I also realized that individualized attention, one on one relationships, and true integration into everyday family life mattered far more to me than simply keeping every dog physically in my house.
That’s a huge part of why Twilight Doodles utilizes a Guardian Home Program.
Guardian Families are trusted, carefully chosen families who raise one of my breeding dogs as their own beloved pet while remaining part of my program.
These dogs grow up sleeping on couches, going on vacations, learning family routines, bonding deeply with their people, and living the kind of spoiled, involved lives I truly want for them.
To me, that matters tremendously.
My Guardian Families are not employees or “dog holders.” They’re genuinely important partners in my program and deeply invested in the health, happiness, and wellbeing of the dogs they raise.
And honestly, many of these dogs end up getting far more individualized attention than they realistically would if every single breeding dog lived full time in one home together.
The dogs are still very much part of the Twilight Doodles family. I stay closely involved throughout their lives, breeding careers, health testing, pregnancies, and beyond.
At the end of the day, my goal has always been simple:
I want every mama and papa in my program living a deeply loved, fulfilling, family centered life first and foremost.
Because before they are ever breeding dogs, they are somebody’s heart dog. 🤎🐾
When one of my mamas or papas retires from breeding, they simply continue living life as a deeply loved family dog. 🤎🐾
Many of my dogs already live with their Guardian Families throughout their breeding careers, so retirement usually feels very natural and seamless for them because they’re already home.
There’s no big transition, rehoming stress, or sudden lifestyle change.
They simply move into the next chapter of life with the people who already love them deeply.
Some retired dogs remain here with me, while others stay permanently with their Guardian Families, but no matter where they live, they are always part of the Twilight Doodles family.
Retirement decisions are made individually based on the dog herself including:
• physical health
• emotional wellbeing
• recovery after litters
• overall happiness
• and whether I still feel breeding is truly in her best interest
Once a dog retires, that chapter closes fully and they simply get to enjoy life being somebody’s spoiled, adored companion.
At Twilight Doodles, my dogs are never disposable and they are never viewed as “just breeding dogs.”
They are loved long before breeding and they remain just as loved long after retirement. 🤎🐾
Absolutely. 🤎🐾
One of my favorite parts of the entire process is watching families finally meet the puppies they’ve spent weeks following along with online.
By the time families meet the litter in person, they’ve usually already watched the puppies grow from tiny newborn potatoes into playful little personalities through videos, photos, updates, and behind the scenes moments shared throughout the journey.
Around 6 weeks old, families are invited to Twilight Doodles for TD Fam Socialization Day.
This is typically the first in person visit with the puppies and honestly, it’s such a special day. Families get to spend time interacting with the litter, asking questions, observing puppy behavior in real time, and experiencing the puppies beyond photos and videos alone.
But this day is also intentionally beneficial for the puppies too.
The puppies safely experience new people, handling, sounds, scents, textures, and interactions in a positive and controlled way, helping continue building confidence and adaptability during an important developmental stage.
For families who live farther away, I completely understand that traveling in person is not always realistic and that’s okay too. I regularly share videos and updates throughout the raising process and I’m always happy to coordinate FaceTime calls or virtual meetings when needed.
At the end of the day, connection matters tremendously to me.
These puppies are not raised in kennels or separate facilities. They’re raised right here in my home, woven into everyday life from the very beginning.
And I truly believe families feel that when they meet them. 🤎🐾
No. 🤎🐾
If a puppy remains here beyond traditional go-home age, they continue receiving even more time, training, structure, socialization, and individualized attention throughout their stay with me.
Honestly, older puppies often require significantly more work, intention, and one on one investment than younger puppies do and because of that, their value does not decrease with age within my program.
As puppies remain here longer, I continue building foundations in areas like:
• potty training
• crate training
• confidence building
• handling and grooming preparation
• socialization and neutrality
• household routines
• settling skills
• leash exposure
• manners and everyday life skills
One thing I’ve actually found over the years is that many families end up loving slightly older puppies because they often transition into home life more smoothly than people expect.
Their personalities are more developed, they’ve had additional structure and exposure, and they’re often entering a really fun stage developmentally where families can begin building deeper communication and training more quickly.
Because of the continued time and investment poured into puppies that remain here longer, puppies staying past 10 weeks old may have an adjusted price to reflect the additional care, development, and training foundations they continue receiving during that time.
At the end of the day, my focus is never simply “selling puppies.”
It’s continuing to intentionally raise and invest in them for however long they remain part of everyday life here at Twilight Doodles. 🤎🐾

I currently have several solid chocolate puppies from Olivia and Dutton available. This pairing is known for producing rich, dark chocolate coats with very little fading and the soft, wavy coats so many families love.
What truly makes these puppies special, though, is their temperament. Olivia puppies consistently grow into affectionate, easygoing companions who adore their people. They tend to be wonderful with children and fit beautifully into family life.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend wrapped in a gorgeous chocolate coat, I’d love to introduce you to this litter.
